Muay Thai super class
Our very own Muay Thai rising star, James Kostic, is set for another exciting match in Bangkok, returning to the RWS stage against a tough Thai opponent. James is a true champion—both on and off the mats—and it’s amazing to see his hard work paying off. RWS (Rajadamnern World Series) is the second-largest Muay Thai promotion in the world, and after James’s last performance there against former three-time world champion Ognjen Topic, he proved he belongs on the biggest stages. We received the call from Thailand last month and couldn’t say no. So next week, James, Luis, and Paul Steffen...

New SRG Sparring Day – 31/05/2025
Time to stir things up and bring the heat once again with another SRG Sparring Day! This edition will be held on 31st May, and there are a few exciting changes compared to previous events. The main difference: Cost and what you get. All participants are required to register and pay the new fee upon registration (if you are not matched, your funds will be refunded). For this upcoming edition, competitors will receive a brand-new competitor short and singlet, which will be exclusive to participants and not available for sale. We will also have a photographer at the event, and...

Results from the weekend + Easter Holiday
A sour weekend for our fighters. We had Luis Cajaiba, Adam Kaewphaluek, and Brandon Vance fighting in VIC and QLD on Saturday, and unfortunately, we came back empty-handed. Cajaiba and Adam fought at Iron Lion Promotions in Melbourne. Adam faced an experienced Thai opponent and couldn’t outsmart him, losing on points. Cajaiba fought very well and, in our eyes, clearly won the fight. Unfortunately, the judges saw it differently and completely disregarded Cajaiba’s clinch dominance and the impact of his punches and kicks on his opponent. At Muay Thai League in QLD, Brandon fought well, but it wasn’t enough to...

Luis Cajaiba
The second trainer to be introduced in our series is Luis Cajaiba. Cajaiba is way more than a great trainer that enjoys his Brazilian funk music during our group classes. In Muay Thai, well at least in traditional Muay Thai, we have three belts that can define one’s career, they are the Lumpinee belt, Rajadanmern belt and Thailand champion. Cajaiba’s has many belts but one stands out the most. Thailand Champion being the first foreigner in history to win it. Before the glory and respect from the tough Thai crowd on the stadiums, we go way back to Brazil, where...

Local Business Award – Vote for SRG
We were surprised after finding out we have been nominated for the local business awards on the fitness services category. This is our first time being selected for this award and you can help us getting a new and nice trophy. To help us out, please click HERE to vote for SRG. Luis got really excited about the idea of having a day off of Muay Thai shorts to suit up for the awards, so please take a minute and vote for us as your favourite gym! Have you voted yet? How much do you know about your trainers?
Muay Thai is a sport that you step in the ring on your own, alone. But you would’t be able to, if you didn’t have an experienced team behind you supporting and preparing you through all the steps until the big day. Considering this, we’ve always done our best to build up our team of trainers at SRG with only former and current professional fighters with an extensive resume fighting in Australia or overseas. Currently, our team of full time trainers is composed by 5 Thai trainers and 2 Brazilians. How much do you know about them? From now on,...

February has been a long month, hasn’t it?
Our fighting year is setting up to be our busiest yet and in February we had 6 fights for our team and only a single win. Do you know what that means in Muay Thai? Losing in Muay Thai accounts for not much in most occasions. Sure, there will always be those who think they will fight Muay Thai and have a career similar to Floyd Mayweather but this is simply impossible. When you lose a fight, the only thing that matters is how you lost and we are not talking about split decisions or knockouts, it’s a simple review...
