WBC Australian title on the line
We are hoping to see our students fighting for multiple belts this year and we just got confirmation of a second belt fight for the month of February. Our fighter Marina Verissimo will be fighting for the WBC Super Flyweight National title on the 18th of February at MTL A League of Their Own in QLD and we couldn’t be more excited for this matchup. She will be fighting against Devina Martin from Muay U. They previously fought on nationals and then once again for the WBC NSW State title which Marina came out victorious. So far their record against...

James Kostic is back in action
James Kostic had an amazing 2022 getting himself 3 belts including a WBC, Siam Cup and Masa Australian title and we can’t wait what 2023 has in store for this young weapon. James will be the first SRG fighter to fight in Sydney this year and once again for a belt. If you wish to support him, tickets are available at the reception. His opponent is the talented Blair Geraghty and we know both boys will be doing their best for the Annihilation champion belt. WHAT: Annihilation XVIII promoted by Full Force Promotion WHEN: Friday, 10th of February WHERE: St Marys...

Congratulations Maksak aka Deaw
The year was 2015 and to be more precise, it was the 6th of May 2015. On this day we welcomed Maksak Patsanon aka Deaw, as one of the SRG instructors. Deaw is what we call the “big boss” of our Thai team, the oldest one not always the wisest but certainly one of the most charismatic people you will find on the mats. Since he arrived in Australia he had one goal, become a permanent resident. After a long wait, Deaw has now officially become a permanent resident in Australia. This is not only great for our students but great...

Australia Day – Lunch class 12:30pm
It’s almost time for yet another public holiday in Australia and we will be doing only one class on the 26th of January. Our lunch session is on Thursday at 12:30pm and the whole team will be on the mats. Fighters must arrive at 11am. If you have any questions, please contact us via email at info@thaiboxingsydney.com or over the phone 02 9667 2115. Have you reviewed us yet?
Do you know you could help out the gym by taking a few minutes out of your time? There’s no better way to bring in new students than our current students writing about their experience at SRG. Do you love training with us? How good is it having a lot of instructors in every single class? How easy it is having a busy timetable with classes on from 6:30am until 9pm? If any of these things ring a bell, why not write a positive review about them? Help us out and by keeping that 5 star rating in our profile...

Have you been doing your homework?
If you are a SRG member and keep your emails in check, you know by now that our instructors and pro fighters have been selecting their favourites fights/fighters to help you learn Muay Thai through fights. Today’s selection was made by Pandin and his list couldn’t be more traditional old school Muay Thai. Make sure to watch these fights and pay attention to the fighters style, technique, counters, timing and pace! CIRCUIT CLASS IS BACK
One of our goals at SRG is having classes on from morning until evening and slowly we’ve been adding more and more classes to our timetable. Quite often our students mistakenly show up for a class on Monday and Wednesday at 4:30pm (kids class time) so we have decided to add an extra class, isn’t that great? From the 30th of January our circuit class is back. Yes, it’s not a Muay Thai technical session but a Muay Thai fitness class that has been requested from our students for a while. If you are looking for an opportunity to sweat...

GYM’S LOST AND FOUND
It’s been quite a long time since our last lost and found clean up and going through the things people manage to forget at the gym always surprises us. We wish all our students could be responsible about their training gear but it’s not the case. As per usual there is a few gloves, shin pads, hand wraps and enough training clothes to open an outlet. If you forgot something at the gym, please come past and get it on the lost and found before Friday. On Friday we will remove all the equipment left at the gym and the...

Are you planning to fight in 2023?
Our fighters had a really busy 2022 and seeing new faces stepping up to the challenge of having an amateur fight was great. We are up for a promising year for Muay Thai in NSW with a completely different structure in order to have better promotions and more professional fighters representing our state. This year thanks to Muay Thai Australia NSW, athletes will have a clearer athlete pathway and will be able to say goodbye to the old and awkward (hated by most fighters) headgear sooner than in past years. Please see below how the fighters classes will work in...
