We’ve mentioned it multiple times, but our main goal at SRG has always been to offer the best Muay Thai experience to our students here in Sydney and that goal hasn’t changed.
Currently, we have 12 trainers teaching our 54 group classes every week, but we want more. More classes, more trainers, more Muay Thai, and more room. Yes, that’s right, more room.
It’s no surprise to those with sharp eyes, but the building adjacent to SRG, where Sports Lab used to operate, is now vacant and well, we’re taking it.
That rolling door behind our treadmills will be opened after many years, and the entire ground-level building will become a newer and better SRG.
The corner building has almost 400 sqm, and we’re going to make the most of it. Curious about what we’re planning for this expansion?
First of all, here’s a list of what’s coming:
-
A bigger and better weight area with new equipment
-
A recovery room with sauna, ice bath, compression boots, reclining sofa, and a TV (because watching Muay Thai is a must)
-
Improved change rooms with lockers
If you’ve been a SRG member for a while, you already know we love adding new classes to our timetable and this time will be no different.
We don’t have a set timetable yet for the new mats, but here are some of the classes we plan to introduce:
-
Boxing Fundamentals
-
Boxing All Levels
-
Boxing for Muay Thai
-
Mobility Classes
-
Women’s Only Classes in the Evening
-
Extra Fundamentals Classes
Our current reception and gym entrance will move to the new building, allowing us to expand our mats area. There’s a lot to be done before the opening, and we’ll share more information as it becomes available. There will be a membership adjustment, but that’s a topic for another, more detailed email.
If you’re still reading, we hope you’re as excited as we are. Want to share your thoughts on the new classes and facilities? We’d love to hear your suggestions.

Once again, we are always moving forward and looking for ways to make SRG a better gym. The future is exciting, and we’ll share more details once we have a concrete timeline.
