We were once again in Melbourne, and this time our fighters were featured in both the main event and co-main event of the evening.
James Kostic has truly taken the hardest and most authentic path to make a name for himself in the Muay Thai scene, and he keeps climbing the rankings in his weight division. Never choosing easy opponents, he stepped into the ring against Mahamongkol a former regular on the Thai stadium circuit and a former Thailand Champion known for his slick, technical style.
James showed significant improvements and managed to outscore his opponent, earning a win by points decision. There’s no rest for the wicked, in just four weeks, he’ll be back in action, this time in Thailand, before returning to compete in Melbourne again this November.
Paul didn’t have time for a full camp, but made us proud by taking on a very experienced opponent and never falling too far behind on the scorecards. His opponent, Carter Lawrence, is a seasoned Muay Khao fighter, and we expected him to clinch from the start. Our German fighter managed to neutralize much of the clinch work and held his ground well, but came up short in the kick exchanges, being outscored after five rounds of action.
We are proud of our fighters and can’t wait to see them back in action.
Keep an eye on @srgthaiboxing for upcoming fights and gym updates!
