February has been a long month, hasn’t it?

February has been a long month, hasn’t it?

Our fighting year is setting up to be our busiest yet and in February we had 6 fights for our team and only a single win. Do you know what that means in Muay Thai?

Losing in Muay Thai accounts for not much in most occasions. Sure, there will always be those who think they will fight Muay Thai and have a career similar to Floyd Mayweather but this is simply impossible.

When you lose a fight, the only thing that matters is how you lost and we are not talking about split decisions or knockouts, it’s a simple review of how you fought. Was your head and heart in those rounds? If the answer is yes, then congratulations, you’ve been formally introduced to this sport’s reality which fighting with all your will is the most important thing and not the outcome.

Regardless of the outcome, a fighter biggest trait is and always will be their heart. Not giving up and enduring the hardships. When you have your heart at the right place and once you jump over the ropes, you are already in the right direction and your trainers will acknowledge it.

We are proud of our fighters who competed in February and we know they will comeback stronger and better.

Our weekends in March are fully booked with fights in Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne and you better not miss out on the action. Below is a schedule of events for the month of March involving our fight team.

  •  March 1st (NSW) – SRG Sparring Day. An internal competition between members who are actively participating in our sparring classes. This is the best opportunity for our members try out their skills in a safe enviroment. Participating in our sparring day is the first step towards being able to compete in the amateur ranking in NSW representing SRG.
  • March 8th (NSW) – MNSW Development Day. Amateurs will be competing on the second event of the year organised by Muay Thai Australia NSW.
  • March 8th (QLD) – Muay Thai League in Gold Coast. One of our kids, Brandon Vance is competing at MTL in QLD.
  • March 15th (QLD) – Muay Thai Australia Nationals. The best amateurs in the country competing in Gold Coast.
  • March 22nd (VIC) – Rebellion Muay Thai. James Kostic is back in action fighting another international opponent.
  • March 29th (VIC) – Spartans Cup Championship. Back in Melbourne, this time for the return of Luis Cajaiba in the ring and also Adam Kaewphaluek after his win at RWS in Thailand.

Is it asking too much to be sponsored by Qantas? What a busy March and we couldn’t ask for anything better. Stay tuned for more updates!
