Oh well, it had been just good news for a long time and we had a few more in store for Monday, but someone decided to ruin the party.

Before going through the good news, here is the bad one. We had everything organised and on track with our development manager, and the 1st of September was the date we would start operating in U1 with new classes, weight area, and recovery room. Unfortunately, due to a single complaint regarding the change of the DA approval and business trade at Unit 1, our application timeline has been pushed back for further examination. We’ve been guaranteed by our development manager that this won’t affect a positive outcome, considering the approval for trade at U2. but it does mean possibly waiting a couple of extra weeks for the final approval.

The whole situation is very frustrating for all of us, since so far we’ve spent over $230,000 between renovations done to the building, new Muay Thai training gear, strength and conditioning equipment, and council fees for the DA approval. All of this not counting the committed budget to add more trainers to run our extra classes. This isn’t ideal and deeply saddens us not being able to start operating classes/training at U1 from this coming Monday and we appreciate your understanding.

Enough of the bad news, below are the good ones.

• Lek is back at SRG from Monday. Yes, you’ve read it right—our Muay Khao trainer and fighter returns to SRG after 9 months away, and we couldn’t be any happier having him back.
• Flights are booked in for the second addition to our team of Thai trainers. Coming on September 21st is: Ongree Sor Dechapant. Ongree is a two-time Lumpinee Champion, Channel 7 Champion, and Rajadamnern Champion. He has been working overseas since 2019 and speaks fluent English. Ongree will be teaching classes at SRG and most likely fighting as well, as he joins us for the next two years.
• Our long-time partner, Strive Dietetics, owned by Kristof Szanto, will be offering 50% OFF on the first booking at Strive for Dexa Scans or RMR Testing for SRG members. This offer is aligned with the new gym’s operational start. Basically, once we start running classes at the new place, the promotion is on. We will send a more detailed email later on.
• SRG x Yokkao co-branding. We all know by now that Yokkao offers the best training gear out there and, well, it was about time to do some co-branding. After a lot of back and forth, we finally managed to come up with a slick design with the new gym’s logo, and we can’t wait to unveil the new SRG collection of gloves, Muay Thai shorts, t-shirts, shin pads, and training shorts. The new merch drop is on Monday and we really hope you like it as much as we do.

Considering the opening has been postponed, we are no longer closing on Friday and Saturday.
