Is with great excitement that we see our students progressing through their training and getting interested in also having a feel of what is like to have a Muay Thai fight.
We now see more and more of our Beginners and Intermediate students attending to sparring classes, and that on its own, is a very rewarding feeling.
At Beginners Sparring classes we need to be more careful, we need to have extra protection gear to make sure not to hurt ourselves and also our training partners. For those classes you will need to have 16oz Gloves, Shin Pads, Mouth Guard, and a Groin Guard for the boys. Head Gear is also welcomed to be used but is not mandatory as the other protective training equipment are.
Specially when sparring with smaller and lighter training partners, we need to ensure to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you have been training and sparring for a little while, make sure to encourage the new upcoming sparring partners by looking after them, making sure to protect and help them while training, that way everyone goes home wanting to come back in the next session.
For the ones that have been sparring for longer, and would like to have a bit more of a tougher section, make sure to let us know, Luis and the boys would be more than happy to help you excel on your goals.
Something very important we need to also address about the sparring classes is that in the end of every class we clinch. Clinching is one of the most important parts of Muay Thai and is what differs us from a lot of other Martial Arts.
Clinching also means clean and short nails. Very important and also mandatory to all clinching classes. We had a couple of incidents lately and the picture below explains it all.
See you all at training, SOOT RAAENG GEERT!!
