Our fighters had a really busy 2022 and seeing new faces stepping up to the challenge of having an amateur fight was great.
We are up for a promising year for Muay Thai in NSW with a completely different structure in order to have better promotions and more professional fighters representing our state.
This year thanks to Muay Thai Australia NSW, athletes will have a clearer athlete pathway and will be able to say goodbye to the old and awkward (hated by most fighters) headgear sooner than in past years.
Please see below how the fighters classes will work in this year’s events.
Class D and C are the entry levels. The main idea is to have fighters gain the experience and move up classes.
CLASS D – Our traditional development day and smoothest way to have your first fight. Minimum protective requirements are headgear, elbow pads, cotton shin guards, 16oz gloves and body armour. 0 fights entry level. The athlete annual fee to compete is $150. 3x 2 minutes rounds. Athletes must be registered in “Amateur” class with CSA NSW.

Basically, our expectative is to see our students becoming Class B fighters after 5 to 6 fights.
CLASS B – Also known as Professional fighter B class. Athletes must be registered in “Professional” class with CSA NSW. To become a B class fighter, it is necessary to have at least 3 fights in C class. Minimum protective requirements are elbow pads and 8oz/10oz gloves.
