The roar of the drums are starting to resonate among us. Can you hear it?
July first is a couple of days away and we can’t wait to go back to our normal timetable. As well as having all of your favourite classes back, we will resume with the so awaited sparring and clinching sessions.
To say we are excited in an understatement, and to be able to open our doors to the general public again is proving to be a mark in the history of our academy. SRG Thai Boxing Gym is proud to have kept all its employees during this tough situation. Everyone, including the non Australian Citizens, insuring they met their thresholds in order to provide to their families. It was, it has been and will still be rough for a while, but we wouldn’t be able to live with ourselves knowing that the very people that helped us build this amazing place, would be left without government support, ending up (being push to) return to their countries, to only increase the unemployment status of those places.
We have been open since 2010 (here in Alexandria) and have never experienced anything like this, and we bet most of you didn’t either, but we need to tell you that by being immigrants in Australia, all of us without exception, every single dollar we spent from our saving of the last 10 years of hard work, made us fell good and super proud. Being able to have worked in this blessed nation of Australia and as a reward being able to support 8 different families during one of the worst crisis of our time, it’s extremely rewarding and something that will always bring an enormous warmth to our hearts. Thank you Australia for giving us the opportunity to do such thing.
This is also by far the best investment we could possibly make. When you walk through our doors, you will quickly understand why. The energy that our team has now is something we have also never experienced before, and it is being translated in their training sessions with our students. We thank you that helped us throughout this time, without you, most likely, we wouldn’t be here now writing this article, without you our doors would most likely never re-open and the community around us wouldn’t be able to enjoy the benefits of this beautiful martial art of ours. If you haven’t yet, give yourself a tap over your shoulder and feel good about it. This won’t go unnoticed and soon we will be sending you private e-mails with some special things we will be doing/giving to everyone that managed to chip in during these lockdown.
2 days guys, 2 more sleeps and we are there, a step closer from normality and feeling much better and happier than we used to before all of this happened. See you soon at training, SOOT RAAENG GEERT!
