The MTA Development Day held at SRG Thai Boxing Gym was another success.
This time around, the day was filled with more than amateur Muay Thai bouts. Muaythai Australia NSW had the first Officials Course, to all Judges and Referees wanting to get a refreshment on the rules and regulations of our sport, and also everyone wanting to be a Judge or Referee had the opportunity to take their first steps into becoming one. Was even good to see Judges and Referees from other Sanctioning Bodies taking part of our course, maybe we will start to see consistent Judging and Refereeing around NSW, at least we hope so.
The Development Day (Sparring Day) itself was amazing, the growth of our sport is enormous and we couldn’t be happier for being a part of it. It is so good to have all gyms from Sydney coming over and being involved in the development of Muay Thai, with no politics, no ego, simply for the love of our sport.
From SRG Thai Boxing we had 10 combatants and 7 were having their first fights, totalling 11 Fights and 9 Wins over the weekend (we also had Gav fighting on Friday night).
This year has been so far a great year for SRG Thai Boxing inside and outside of the ring. The new friends we are making, the old friends that are still around… This for us means a lot, and we hope that you guys feel at home when visiting our gym.
Once again we would like to say a Big Thank You to all that helped us on the day. All the MTA Officials, (specially Elias, Trevor and Andrew) for sharing their knowledge with us all, all the New Judges and Referees that took a few bouts under their wings, Doctor Lance, the Combat Sports Authority, our students, family and friends that also came out to give us a hand on the day!
At last, a very special Thank You to ALL Combatants and their trainers for all your hard work and commitment. We wouldn’t be able to do this without you and we will be forever thankful.
We hope you are all having a good Anzac Day! Lest we Forget! SOOT RAAENG GEERT!
